Resilient and Open Commercial Solutions (ROCS)

The FutureG Office within the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering is responsible for the strategic assessment and research and development of FutureG technologies to confer long-term economic, military and security advantages to the United States of America and its allies.

By focusing on spectrum management and spectrum sharing, the Resilient and Open Commercial Solutions (ROCS) theme can leverage advances in hardware, software, and other applications for the warfighter. ROCS focuses on supporting vendor diversity through experimentation such as the 5G Challenge, and Open 6G.

The ROCS team enhances its experimentation and projects through relationship building with academia and industry alike. Projects such as Resilient and Intelligent NextG Systems (RINGS)  allows a free flow of information from subject matter experts from various backgrounds and industries.
